Research Description:
Research Description: Architectural drawing as a boundary object between architecture and construction is key practice. This research projects explores how replacing this object with a digital one (machine instruction file) would affect this occupational boundary.
Background:
Ruth Palmon holds a a B.Arch from the Bezalel Academy for the Arts, and a M.Sc. in Architecture Studies from MIT. She is a faculty member at the Department for Interior Design at Holon Institute of Technology, and a practicing architect. Her research interests derive from her teaching, where she focuses on the relationship between technology, aesthetics, and labor. She also teaches a fourth-year design studio named "the cyberpunk studio" where possible futures of the built environment and the profession are explored.
