The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Haifa has become the locus of theoretical innovation undertaking research positioned at the forefront of the sociological and anthropological scientific communities. Utilizing theoretical conceptualizations and advanced research methods, our faculty aims to provide responses to key questions pertaining to the social world, the way in which it is organized and the principles constituting everyday social life. Students at our department learn to methodically examine human society in order to identify general patterns in the behavior of individuals, groups and institutions and the relations between them.
