Digital Society Program

Bachelor's degree in Communication and Sociology with a specialization in Digital Society

About the program: How do social networks affect people's relationships and social connections? What role do apps play in shaping consumer behavior? How does artificial intelligence change the face of society and politics? And how do people design digital technologies, and for what purposes?

The new BA program in Digital Society explores these questions and many more. The program provides a broad perspective on how the increasing digitization of our lives shapes and reproduces power relations in various social fields, including gender, work, welfare, ethnic relations, politics, and more. It also sheds light on the mutual relations between technology and society and how individuals, communities, and social movements can influence digitization processes. Students of the program will learn to produce digital media products and use innovative digital methods to study society. The curriculum includes courses in Communication and Sociology that focus on the digital society, as well as practical workshops such as editing and managing digital platforms, user experience (UX) and human-machine interaction, generative artificial intelligence, big-data analysis, and internships in relevant fields.*
